Define authoritative information

Teams need to know which requirement, model, drawing, bill of material, software or inspection definition is authoritative for a given configuration.

  • Assign ownership and lifecycle state.
  • Use persistent identity across systems.
  • Distinguish released data from working data.
  • Preserve units, tolerances and semantic meaning.

Connect design, manufacturing and inspection

Manufacturing and quality need more than nominal geometry. Product and manufacturing information, process characteristics and inspection requirements must retain design intent across tool boundaries.

  • Map critical characteristics to process controls.

Protect traceability and trust

Product information can be copied, transformed and exchanged across organizations. Authorization, authentication, provenance and tamper evidence protect both the product and the decisions based on its data.

Measure production readiness

Readiness is not a document milestone. It is evidence that released definition, capable processes, inspection methods, supply inputs, issue closure and operational ownership are aligned.

  • Review open design and manufacturing risks.
  • Confirm process and inspection capability.
  • Verify work instructions and training inputs.
  • Define feedback, containment and change routes.
